The sports are either mixed or open – details are specified on the individual sports page, please check there for details. A few sports e.g. clay target & ten pin bowling – teams may be able enter single sex teams (depending on entry level) BUT those teams are not eligible to go through to finals (teams must contact Games organisers for confirmation).
Does our organisation need to be from Wellington?
No – however teams who have participated have been based in the Wellington area, your team can come from anywhere in NZ.
Do we need to be fit?
For some events, no above average fitness is required, just team spirit e.g. Ten Pin Bowling, Clay Target Shooting, Corporate Challenge, Amazing Urban Race.
How many teams can we enter in each sport?
You can enter as many teams as your organisation can field, as long as we have spaces for them which means for some sports you have to get in quick to secure space. For the Amazing Urban Race we will give priorities to organisations that enter other sports as well.
Can we send entries in without payment?
Yes – teams can register online HOWEVER entries will not be entered/confirmed until payment is received and payment details need to be filled in on the entry form when registering. To make payment easier you have three choices; either Direct Credit, Cheque or Credit Card (upon request). Where a sport fills up, priority will be given to organisations that have paid – first paid first served!
When will the draws be available?
The draws will be posted on the website one week before the event – this is to allow us time to make sure all draws are correct and to create minimal changes on the day. Team coordinators (which we will have details for) will be also be emailed draws when they are posted on the website.
When will prizes be issued?
Prizes will be generally given out after the finals for an event, however in some late events where more precise results need to be calculated, prizes will be delivered to the business at a later date.
Do I need a golf handicap?
For social and minigolf – No you don’t. If you don’t have a handicap you will play of the maximum handicap (24 for men and 36 for Women). Where a player does not currently have an ‘official’ handicap, e.g., is not a member of a club, their previous handicap is to be used.
For competitive open golf – handicaps will be needed to be submitted by the Monday prior.
What if we don't have enough females or males for team?
Family members are eligible to play (as per our team composition rules); as long as they fit the requirements for an individual sport or get in touch with us. The team who haven’t got enough females or males to meet the team qualifications may be able to play in some sports but will NOT be eligible for winning position and prizes.
Event changes or withdrawals
You can change the event you are in up until closing date (providing there are spaces) with no charge.
A refund of 50% will be given until Friday, September 20th, after which refunds will not be given. All withdrawals must be in writing.
In the case of event cancellation/postponement/venue changed, for reasons such as extreme inclement weather (at the discretion of event officials), or closure of a venue, entry fees shall be non-refundable.
If an event is postponed, every effort will be made to have it rescheduled, however, venue may change (as well as date!!).
When an event is postponed, venue changed or cancelled, information will be communicated a.s.a.p. to team coordinators.
