CLAY TARGET

"Seen at the clay target shooting was a great variety of participants, confirming that this is a sport that anyone can do without special training, equipment and physical attributes. The Hutt Valley Gun Club provided everything including easy coaching for the newcomers, and made everybody feel welcome to a really "different" sporting/social occasion."

The Basics

Date & Time:
Saturday 8 October am & pm Sessions, 8.45am start

Venue:
Hutt Valley Gun Club, Wallaceville Road, Mangaroa Valley, Upper Hutt. Click here for local club map or here for the larger area.

Teams:
Teams will be given a time slot and will only need to be out at the event for around 2.5 hours
Mixed teams of Three

Event:

Each competitor will shoot at twelve targets in the competition.
All necessary equipment supplied.
No previous experience necessary
Full coaching and safety assistance given to each team.
Start times will be in 2 -3 hour bands depending on entry level.
Practice will be available before you start the competition at your own cost ($2 per shot).
Lighter 410 and 20 gauge shot guns available if required

Food and drink will be available all day, but for obvious reasons no alcohol will be served until shooting is finished.

Note - This event will still be on if it rains so be prepared to bring wet weather gear just in case

Team composition rules must be complied with e.g. Only organisation/company members and their immediate families and partners are allowed to enter.
