Porirua’s Cryovac Sealed Air (NZ) Ltd won the Manufacturing sector top prize Cryovac team manager Lua Alefesio, - “Cryovac had almost two dozen teams entered,” he said. “There were close to 50 or 60 of us in the games. Different departments came together, with a good mixture of management and staff. We’ll be talking about the games all year”. Brett Ross, Synergy’s games team manager for the fourth year running couldn’t agree more. “We had 17 different teams with more than 40 staff involved in almost all the events,” Brett says. “The management has been well behind these games”. “The games seem to get better each year. Few of our people are athletic but once they start, they give it their best shot,” Brett says. “We had bright company coloured shirts that really stood out, and the team spirit coming from the games was terrific. I’m sure we’ll be doing this again next year.” Synergy – winners of IT Trophy 2004Multsport Challenge The Multisport Challenge is a rough and tumble environment and Wellington's annual Multisport Team Challenge covers 65km around the CIty's eastern harbour and hills. In 2004 we had over 350 entrants from as far field as Palmerston North and Hawkes Bay. The new course for the Multisport was given the big thumbs up by all competitors, with the run and mountain biking sections getting the biggest accolades.
It started with a 7km down the Hutt River and across Wellington Harbour to Days Bay.
Mountain bikers then headed out on a challenging 23km ride around the Pencarrow Coast and over Pencarrow Station to the Wainuiomata Coast Road where the road cyclists waited for a 28km ride.
Runners then brought their teams home on a 7km bush run over Mt Lowry to finish back in Days Bay.
Once there everyone was treated to a great feed and the prize giving.
